Big Shrimpin’ in Venice, LA and Big Shrimp BBQ in New Orleans
On the Go with BBQGuys, Episode 2
Venice, Louisiana is known all over the country as the jumping-off point for some of the best inshore, offshore, and oil-rig fishing in the United States. Located near the southeastern tip of the state, it’s the southern-most community at the end of the Mississippi River and the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. That’s where we’re going in this episode of On the Go with BBQGuys, where Blaine visits a friend’s shrimp boat to pick up some of the day’s catch. He then heads to New Orleans, fresh shrimp and Blaze Portable Gas Grill in tow, to meet up with Chef Tony on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi. Together they cook up Tony’s grilled version of New Orleans-style BBQ Shrimp while overlooking the city skyline and listening to the unavoidable tunes of the Natchez Steamboat’s calliope.
