Traeger Model Comparison FAQ
What is the difference between Traeger grills?
As the chart above illustrates, Traeger provides a wide range of models from the small portable grills to the flagship Timberline XL. All Traeger models deliver high heat and can hold at least 18 pounds of pellets in their hoppers. Most models employ WiFIRE technology and work with their smartphone app. If you have questions about Traeger models, please call a BBQGuys expert today!
Are Traeger grills worth it?
Absolutely! Traeger offers a wide range of grills at different price points and with different feature sets. In general, the larger the pellet grill, and the more advanced features, the higher the price point. With Traeger, you get what you pay for!
What is the difference between the Ironwood and Pro series?
The two lines have many similarities in terms of size and features. The Ironwood grills are available in black, while the Traeger Pro Series grills are either bronze, or have an option to be bronze or black. The Ironwood grills hold slightly more pellets. All Ironwood models are WiFi-enabled, while some Pro Series models are not. Finally, the Ironwood models both employ Traeger's Downdraft Exhaust, which isn't available on the Pro Series line.
Is the Traeger Ironwood 650 big enough?
With 650 square inches of cooking area, the Ironwood 650 is a small pellet smoker and is toward the smaller end of the Traeger lineup, which ranges from 572 to 1,300 square inches (not including the much smaller portable grills). The cooking grid is a generous 22" x 19", which is large enough to grill 16 burgers at a time.
What is the Traeger downdraft system?
Traeger's Downdraft Exhaust forces old smoke to leave the system below where the food is cooked or smoked, giving you the best hardwood flavor. You have control of the smoke output, which increases the penetration of smoke for amazing wood flavor.
