  • The Prince family had the same outdoor kitchen for over 25 years and knew it was time to update. Their love for family and the outdoors inspired their own Contemporary Coastal Outdoor Kitchen!

    When they built their house in 1989 the Prince family added an outdoor kitchen. While it did do the job for many years, they knew it was time for a revamp, and that included a new grill to make it complete. Mrs. Prince wanted the ability to spend more time cooking outdoors, especially when family and friends were over for a swim.

    The Construction Phase

    When construction began Mr. Prince decided to save the basic shell but added additional supports and fire protection. They spent about 3 weeks planning the project, then they called BBQGuys to start shopping for the best grill and components that would work best with their space.

    Napoleon Prestige Pro 500

    They wanted a contemporary look for their new outdoor kitchen and the Napoleon Prestige Pro 500 had all the features he wanted in his grill. To compliment the grill they chose the Kingston Double Access Doors, which are great for storing those much needed grilling essentials. The stainless steel grill with the blue lights, as well as the stainless steel components, gives the outdoor kitchen the style they wanted to create.

    Kitchen Island Facelift

    Updating the outdoor kitchen was more than just replacing the grill. In order to achieve the contemporary coastal look they desired, they also had to give the island a facelift. Mr. Prince chose a porcelain tile that had the look of a natural stone in different shades of beige and tan. The tile was not only used for the island but also the back splash. Mr. Prince installed it himself and was very pleased with the outcome.

    Contemporary Coastal Dream

    The Prince family love spending time outdoors, and now that they have updated their outdoor kitchen, they are cooking more outside than they had before. Their large pool and outdoor seating area are now complete and ready for outdoor parties and gatherings. Mr. Prince is so happy with his experience with BBQGuys and how his Contemporary Coastal Outdoor Kitchen turned out. He now has to share the cooking time with his wife 50/50, but says that is ok.
